Diva Opera, Britain’s foremost chamber opera company, was founded by Anne Marabini Young and Bryan Evans in 1996 and since then has produced more than 40 different operas and performed in festivals, theatres and for charities throughout Great Britain, the Channel Islands, France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Greece, Slovenia, Japan and Italy including a performance of La Cenerentola at the acclaimed Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
Puccini’s most famous opera and perhaps his finest work, La Boheme tells the story of four struggling young artists in Paris in the late 1880’s. Rodolfo the poet falls in love with Mimi, a seamstress, and Marcello the painter is in a tempestuous relationship with Musetta. Rodolfo and Mimi have a short period of happiness but they part because he is convinced their poverty will make her illness worse. Some months later when Mimi is very ill, she returns to the home Rodolfo shares with the other artists. They relive their first meeting, but it is to late. Mimi dies and Rodolfo is heartbroken.
