To date, the Hull Advisory Group continues to meet and has a breadth of membership including representation from:

Dove House Hospice; Cruse; Relate; Health Practitioners; Hull University, the Local Authority, the Children’s University, Headstart and Cornerhouse.

In addition to the training and networking members achieved during the project years, Hull Council have been keen to train their workforce and held workshops for a range of practitioners. We have also made links with the Social Work department of the University and they now include guest lectures on bereavement issues for Social Work students.

During the project we were fortunate to encounter and support two teenage girls who were entering the Humberside Police Lifestyle Project with a plan to improve bereavement support in schools. Their efforts were admirable and had a wide impact – and they won!

The Advisory Group are currently planning an event to raise Primary Schools’ awareness of Child Bereavement UK’s free resource – The Elephant’s Tea Party.
