Head of Regional Fundraising and Events
Terms: Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week
Based: Head Office in Saunderton or Runcorn centre (flexible working considered)
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

This is an unprecedented opportunity to lead the strategic development of the charity’s regional fundraising and events programmes to significantly increase community engagement and deliver associated sustainable, unrestricted income growth to help Child Bereavement UK achieve our ambition to provide bereavement support to thousands more families in more locations and train thousands more professionals across the UK.

This is an exciting time to join the charity as we enter the next phase of the nationwide expansion of our services, underpinned by the successful development of our professional fundraising team and significant voluntary income growth since 2014.

We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional with an excellent track record of developing community engagement and increasing associated unrestricted income through growing regional fundraising and/or challenge and local events programmes. You will have the ability to plan strategically and lead a small regional fundraising and events team (currently four direct line reports) to inspire them to achieve outstanding results and income growth.

You will have a strong team ethic and be highly personable, with first-class leadership, communication and influencing skills and strong strategic planning and budgeting experience. You will also have excellent supporter care skills and experience in managing and developing donor relationships to maximise their value, retention and longevity, in parallel with strong marketing skills to drive supporter acquisition and retention.

This is a new role in a successful, friendly, multi-disciplinary Fundraising team based at either the charity’s headquarters in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, or at our local service in Runcorn, Cheshire.

This is an unprecedented opportunity to lead the strategic development of the charity’s individual giving programme, to help Child Bereavement UK achieve our ambition to provide bereavement support to thousands more families in more locations and train thousands more professionals across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced individual giving professional with excellent experience of developing and growing individual giving programmes (acquisition and retention) and associated income. You will have strong direct marketing knowledge and the ability to plan strategically and successfully implement plans to deliver income growth. Experience in planning and delivering successful, multi-channel appeals is an advantage.

You will be enthusiastic, personable and self-motivated with a strong team ethic, in parallel with strong strategic planning, budgeting, project management and analytical skills and a high level of personal organisation. You will also have excellent supporter care skills and experience in managing and developing donor relationships to maximise their value, retention and longevity.

This is a brand-new role in a successful, friendly, multi-disciplinary Fundraising team based at the charity’s headquarters in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, also working closely with the charity’s Communications and Data teams.

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. Every year we train over 7,000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.

In the UK, when a baby or child dies or a child is bereaved, many of those affected are unable to access good quality support which meets their individual needs. Child Bereavement UK believes all families should have the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Our aim is to make sure they do.
